Leftovers!
Sometimes in doing the blog posts I run across bits that are not used but I think are too interesting to let go - so here are a few of the recent leftovers and left-outs that for whatever reason didnt make it into the blog.
Eyewitness account of Jack Cliftons deadly beanball incident in Headland Alabama in 1951. It remains the last death by pitch in pro baseball, and was before helmets were required. Clifton led the league in strikeouts and hit by pitch that season, his final year in professional baseball. Jack Clifton embraced the Johnson family right away, and was never accused of malice by the widow.
